Wallflower Chat (noun): An intimate conversation between two or more introverts who feel deeply, question widely, and think obsessively.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Picture this: you’re at a party wearing shoes that fit just a little too tightly. The music is so loud. You don’t know a single person there and all you want to do is cozy up on the sofa. Then, you see someone else in the corner, looking a bit out of place too. Somehow, you get to talking. You talk for hours. Like that, the party’s turned around. You’re no longer so alone.

There’s nothing more intoxicating than that feeling of sinking into a great conversation with a new friend. The back-and-forth banter. The sharing and commiserating. That effortless way they just get your humor. It’s like falling in love.

I can’t promise you’ll fall in love with this newsletter (though I hope you do!), but I will promise to share the things that I can’t stop thinking about. Books and motherhood. Gender and race. Cultural myths. Maybe those topics will be on your mind too.

My hope is that Wallflower Chats can be a place for us to connect more deeply, away from the bustle of the rest of the world.
