What a gorgeous reflection on the confluence of our past and present selves. When Google alerts me that I have not used a certain account in x-number of days and it's in danger of being permanently deleted, I'm always surprised by the reminder of its existence and the reason why I created it. Reading through the inbox and sent messages is a wild walk down memory lane. I, too, feel a little wistful for the versions of myself that I think have faded with time. You're right, though, in that there's always time to make those versions a little more vibrant.
I still have and use the first yahoo account I made. It's still my main personal email address. I do have others, but they are all specific: my main work email, at least two work gmail accounts, a church account where I do wedding coordinating, and an email for my small home biz.
Yahoo is my main squeeze, too! A friend once made me get it and make it professional/non-silly. I’m so grateful; it’s been able to stay with me (but the older I am, the sillier my ancillary addresses get, which is ironic). I am sometime embarrassed that Yahoo is my primary email but I loathe almost everything about gmail 🤷🏻♀️ Anyway, a very fun read and so sweet, those young office worker relationships 🥰💻🤝

Wishing you a magical All Hallow's Eve!
And to you, Kate! Thanks for reading!
Lovely! I can’t imagine what ghosts linger in my forgotten boxes! Thank you for this fresh perspective ✨
This is so lovely! And I'm totally seeing the seeds of a romance novel in that email story.
Nothing's so wonderful as a love letter. Have you read Maybe Next Time by Cesca Major? Such a heartbreaking take on an epistolary romance!
Oooh, I’ll have to check that out!!
This was such a treat to read :) Happy Halloween, Thao!
Thank you, Gail! Happiest of Halloweens to you!
